20 years and counting…

I’m grateful once again for another year as a cancer survivor. This year I hit the 20 year milestone, one that seemed out of reach, impossible and so distant in time.

The progress these past 20 years has provided highly effective therapy, however 51% of any treatment relies on you and your attitude. Cancer treatments continue to evolve and there is always hope of what is on the way.

This past year we lost more of our friends. The recent focus on health should encourage everyone to to make their health a priority. An annual physical exam with your doctor can save your life. Yes, that includes you young folks in your 20s and 30s. For those of you in your 40s, new guidelines for colorectal screening start at age 45. Please find the time to see your doctor annually. It’s only 1 hour of your time. No excuses. If you are afraid or uncomfortable with your doctor, find another one. You are in control.

I continue to be very fortunate to be able to continuously learn and give back. Make your road in life a long one. There is so much to experience, see and do in all kinds of weather and topograpy. When your vehicle has some symptoms or needs annual maintenance go and see your doctor.

Take care of your only vehicle and get to 1,000,000 miles of road.

Also, while driving in life try and avoid getting white line fever.

Until next year for those that have lost the battle I’ll keep fighting for you one day at a time…
